Hero Nation Podcast: ‘Reminiscence’ Director & ‘Westworld’ Co-Creator Lisa Joy On Fascination With Memory & Upcoming Amazon Series ‘The Peripheral’

Gavin O’Connor has no shortage of successful film and TV projects in recent years – whether it’s “Mare of Easttown” (which he serves as Executive Producer), “The Way Back,” or “The Accountant” – all have been embraced by critics and fans alike. But perhaps his most overlooked film, “Warrior,” starring a then-unknown Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton, is seeing a groundswell of appreciation.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Waller-Bridge and Glover differed in their creative vision of the project, leading her to exit the project entirely. The role is currently being recast, and Amazon is on track for the series to debut in 2022.The pair and co-stars in “Solo: A Star Wars Story” worked on the series after Glover originally thought of the idea.

K.J. Yossman Alfred Molina will take on the role of Chief Inspector Armand Gamache in Amazon and Left Bank Pictures’ new series, “Three Pines.”The “Spider-Man 2” star plays the much-beloved detective investigating a series of murders in a picturesque Canadian village.

Much like Disney/Marvel’s 2018 mega blockbuster and Oscar-winning feature Black Panther was a breakthrough for diversity on the big screen, the studios continue to shine with that this coming weekend with Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings, in what is the first Hollywood Asian-American superhero movie.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterThe “Dead Ringers” series at Amazon has added both Jennifer Ehle and Emily Meade in recurring roles, Variety has learned.They join previously announced series lead Rachel Weisz as well as cast members Michael Chernus, Poppy Liu, Britne Oldford and Jeremy Shamos.The series was announced at the streaming service in August 2020 with a straight-to-series order. It is a modern update of the 1988 David Cronenberg film of the same name.

Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon's request to bar the use of the band's songs in an upcoming TV series was denied by a judge in Great Britain on Monday after Lydon was sued by former Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook. A British judge ruled that songs by punk trailblazers the Sex Pistols can be used in a forthcoming TV series despite the opposition of former frontman Lydon.
