The heads of UK financiers Film4 and BBC Film voiced concern this morning for the future of the indigenous UK film sector, which has seen its market share dwindle in the shadow of big U.S. inward investment and budgets stall at the big UK funding bodies.

“There’s market failure because the streamers came in, high-end TV got higher end, and Hollywood arrived. The film, which explores the history of violence, the power of family and the dangers of revenge, marks the feature directorial debut of Rodger Griffiths, who devised the story and co-wrote the screenplay with Rob Drummond. “Kill” follows a hunting trip that turns deadly when three brothers plot to murder their violent, abusive father.

Christopher Nolan has revealed that he wants to make a horror movie, but only if the idea is “really exceptional”.The Oppenheimer director was speaking at an in-conversation event at London’s British Film Institute (BFI) on Thursday (February 16), attended by a sold-out audience.When asked by one audience member if he would ever consider making a horror film, Nolan replied (via Variety): “Oppenheimer has elements of horror in it definitely, as I think is appropriate to the subject matter.“I think horror films are very interesting because they depend on very cinematic devices, it really is about a visceral response to things and so, at some point, I’d love to make a horror film. But I think a really good horror film requires a really exceptional idea.
