It's HAIM Time! The So-Cal sisters Danielle, Este, and Alana Haim will be reissuing Days Are Gone, their beloved debut album of breezy, genre-ambivalent pop rock, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its release. Featuring bonus tracks, demos, and remixes, the new edition comes out September 29.
The band will also be playing a three-night run of shows at the Bellwether in Los Angeles on July 17, 18, and 19. The last of these will feature Days Are Gone performed in its entirety.
Haim's last record, Women in Music, Pt. III, came out in 2020, and placed at #3 on The FADER's best albums list that year.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Be For Films has boarded “The Summer With Carmen,” Zacharias Mavroeidis’ colorful Greek comedy that’s set to world premiere at the Venice Days at the Lido. “The Summer With Carmen” takes place at Athens’ queer beach, where 30-something Demosthenes offers to help his friend and aspiring filmmaker Nikitas in drafting an idea for his feature debut, inspired by the events surrounding a dog named Carmen.

Cinecittà will distribute the film in Italy. They pulled into the Ukrainian port city at 3:30 a.m. Russia invaded Mariupol one hour later. As the only international reporters in the city, the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and his team captured what later became defining images of the war: dying children, mass graves, and the bombing of a maternity hospital. Chernov, Vasilisa Stepanenko and Evgeniy Maloletka initially went to Mariupol to capture what they thought would be news segments. But after escaping the city, Chernov knew that he needed to take the harrowing footage he and his team had captured and make a documentary. The result is “20 Days in Mariupol,” a 94-minute film that is both devastating and riveting. Scenes include a mother weeping over the body of her four-year-old, who died from shelling wounds, as well as a father crying that his teenage son’s legs were torn off by a bomb while playing soccer outside a school.
