Guests were evacuated from a Manchester city centre hotel last night as firefighters 'cleared smoke' from inside.
Crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at the Kimpton Clocktower hotel on Oxford Street at around 11.45pm. An 'electrical fault' caused smoke to billow onto the third floor.
A spokesperson for the hotel said guests were evacuated 'in line with safety procedures'. The smoke was cleared by crews before people were let back inside.

Pictures taken at the scene showed a large crowd gathered outside the hotel's entrance on the main road. Fire engines were pictured stationed outside.
A spokesperson for GMFRS said: "At approximately 11.45pm on Tuesday, 5 April, fire engines from Gorton, Salford and Manchester Central stations were called to a hotel on Oxford Street, in Manchester. There was a quantity of smoke on the third floor of the building caused by an electrical fault. Fire crews helped to clear the smoke and secure the scene.
"Firefighters were in attendance for around one hour."
A spokesperson for the hotel said: "The safety and well-being of our guests and colleagues remains our highest priority. We can confirm the minor incident was quickly and safely dealt with by the relevant authorities."
