Since the show returned from the mid-season hiatus, Karev has been noticeably absent. The shown explained he was "in Iowa" with his mom. But then, he stopped returning Jo's calls and texts, and on last night's episode, Jo admitted she thought Alex had officially left her, and she found out he never actually went to go visit his mom. Bad news for all involved.
