Along with house prices, the cost to rent is yet another thing soaring amid the cost of living crisis. According to Rightmove, rent prices have jumped by almost 11 per cent over the last year, in what is now described as the most 'competitive rental market ever'.
Anyone looking to rent a home or apartment in Manchester can expect to pay an average price of around £1,067 a month for a standard home or apartment - a cost that has climbed by 19pc from this time last year, when the average rental costs were £894.
If that seems overpriced to you, wait until you see the cost of the most expensive properties at the top of the region's rental market. In Greater Manchester there are fair few luxury homes that are available to let within the region of £10,000, up to a staggering £22,000 per calendar month.
