Gravitas Ventures, the indie film and documentary distributor founded and run by Nolan Gallagher, has been acquired by Canadian media giant Anthem Sports & Entertainment.Anthem bought Gravitas from Germany-based Red Arrow Studios as part of a multimillion dollar deal that includes Gravitas Ventures’ library of 3000 titles. Anthem’s transaction was based on a cash purchase price of $73 million along with an additional common stock consideration component.
Red Arrow Studios has agreed to sell Gravitas Ventures, the prolific narrative film and documentary distributor with a 3,000-title catalogue, to Anthem Sports & Entertainment, a multi-platform media company with offices and studios in Los Angeles, Denver, Nashville, New York, Kansas City and Toronto.
UK indie pioneer David Frank, who was CEO of Zodiak Media and founded RDF Media, has died aged 63, his brother and long-time business partner Matthew Frank confirmed today. Frank died suddenly at home over the weekend and arrangements for his funeral are yet to be made.
