Sarah Harding, after her tragic death from cancer aged 39 last year. Nadine Coyle confirmed on Monday that the band will come together for the first time since 2013, in the hope of raising money for life-saving medical equipment that could help diagnose cancer sooner. In September, Sarah passed away after a year battling breast cancer, with her devastated bandmates Nadine, Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, sharing a slew of tributes to social media at the time.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Nadine revealed: 'We're planning a night for an event to raise money in honour of Sarah. 'She's very much in the forefront of our minds. ''We want to raise money for a piece of medical equipment that helps diagnose cancer earlier so people can be treated.
We definitely want to do something to help others. 'Nadine added that even seven months after Sarah's passing her death still 'affects them deeply. 'The anniversary would be the first time Girls Aloud have appeared together since 2013, when they split after celebrating their 10th Anniversary.
In February, Kimberley told MailOnline that there were no plans for a reunion in the immediate future, because none of them were 'in that headspace at the moment. 'She said: 'It’s amazing that we’re coming up to 20 years and there’ll be lots of reminiscing personally for us as a group, the four of I’m sure will be looking back at old memories. 'But I think that our heads are not in a space to be doing anything as a band, it wouldn’t feel right without Sarah.
