Members of Girls Aloud were reunited as Cheryl joined her ex-bandmate Kimberley Walsh to celebrate Nicola Roberts' 38th birthday. Cheryl and Kimberley couldn't help but snap a glamorous selfie at the star-studded birthday bash on Friday night, 6 October, with Kimberley sharing it on her Instagram story alongside the caption: "Celebrity Miss @lilcola last night with my girl @cherylofficial." Former Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore was also in attendance as she shared a video of Nicola blowing out her candles, while the Irish presenter cheered.
Nicola looked stunning as she opted for a black textured boob tube dress, with matching opaque tights and heels. The singer was all smiles, wearing her signature red locks in a soft wave, with styled bangs as she celebrated surrounded by celebrity pals at BoTree Bar in Marylebone.
In March 2013, Girls Aloud performed their final show at The Echo Arena after announcing they had split. It comes as Nicola recently fought back tears as she reflected on the heartbreaking loss of Girls Aloud band member Sarah Harding, almost two years on from her death.
In September 2021, Sarah died after a battle with breast cancer, aged just 39. Around the anniversary of her death, Nicola appeared on Good Morning Britain to open up about the grief she still feels from her passing.
The flame-haired singer spoke to Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard on the GMB sofa, with Nicola asked how she was coping. Ben said to Nicola: "I can't believe it's two years this month since we lost her, and grief's a funny thing, isn't it? It hits you in waves, and I bet there are moments where she pops up into your mind, and you want to phone her up because something's happened, and you just want to have a laugh with her.
