Two inmates at a Northern California prison killed another inmate on Friday, authorities said, the third instance in under two weeks that an inmate was killed while jailed in the state. The latest killing happened at High Desert State Prison, officials said. Inmates William Lutts, 39, and Timothy Smith, 40, attacked fellow inmate Terence Coleman, 51.

A suspected intoxicated person on a horse galloping through traffic in southern California refused to pull over for police and was arrested following a brief pursuit. Whittier Police Department posted about the unusual case on their Instagram page. "At the conclusion, a suspect was taken into custody and the horse was brought to our station, where it received lots of love from our team," the post with three photos attached reads.

Police in Stockton, California announced that a suspect has been arrested in relation to six murders and one shooting since April 2021. Stockton City Manager Harry Black announced that Wesley Brownlee, 43, was arrested while he was armed and on a "mission to kill" another victim.

After an Obama-appointed federal judge upheld a new Georgia election law against a challenge from Stacey Abrams, a top civil rights attorney told Fox News the Peach State's Democratic gubernatorial nominee continues to use an outdated political "playbook" to claim injustice. In an interview with Shannon Bream on "Fox News Sunday," Abrams said voter suppression purportedly still exists in municipalities where it people may have "difficulty registering" or where voter rolls may be subject to dormancy purges. "In the state of Georgia, we adequately proved and more and more voters have experienced difficulties with doing so," Abrams said.

A woman who survived being a victim of a suspected serial killer believed to be linked to multiple deaths in and around Stockton, California said police investigators didn't take her seriously when she reported the attack and acted as if they "just didn’t care."  In an interview with 209 Times, Natasha LaTour said she told authorities about the night she nearly died on April 16, 2021. She was living in a tent in Stockton when around 3 a.m., she heard the sound of crunching gravel.  When she got out of the tent, a dark figure approached her.The assailant was wearing a black surgical mask and pointed a gun one-handed at her, she told the news publication.

A California parent spoke out Monday after a high school football team was banned from carrying the Thin Blue Line flag onto the field, after critics alleged the symbol was divisive.  Saugus High School mother Lexi Hawk joined "Fox & Friends First" to discuss the controversy and how the community has responded to the school's decision.  "He thinks it's ridiculous personally, but he is respectful of the school's decision at this time," Hawk told co-host Todd Piro regarding her son's thoughts on the matter. "He likes to play football.

A Georgia K9 deputy uncovered more than $172,000 worth of fentanyl tablets shipped from California.  The discovery, made during a routine check at a Gainesville package delivery hub last week, was the first package that has been found containing fentanyl in Hall County, located about 55 miles from Atlanta.  The Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force seized the shipment of fentanyl tablets, which was worth approximately $172,500. The check was conducted Thursday, with the use of an HCSO narcotics detection K9, the sheriff’s office said in a news release Friday, and shared a photo of the blue pills packaged in plastic.  Georgia drug agents discovered $172K worth of fentanyl tablets at a Hall County delivery hub.  (Hall County Sheriff's Office) The K9 was taking part in an open-air search of packages arriving at the delivery hub when he alerted on a package from California being shipped to Oakwood, the sheriff’s office said.  Drug agents found the fentanyl, weighing about 575 grams, in a package concealed inside the original box.The investigation into the identities of the sender and the recipient of the package continues.

The FBI released its national crime data for 2021 this week, but it lacks data from nearly 40% of police departments nationwide, including massive forces in cities such as New York and Los Angeles.  "I don't think you could get national numbers, at least not useful national numbers, from this data," Jacob Kaplan, criminologist at Princeton University, told the Marshall Project earlier this year. "It's going to be really hard for policymakers to look at what crime looks like in their own community and compare it to similar communities." The FBI switched to a new recording program at the start of January 2021, called the National Incident-Based Reporting System.The new reporting method was rolled out to provide a more thorough snapshot of offenses, such as what weapons were used in an incident, types of property stolen, and more detailed demographic information on victims and perpetrators of crimes.

The body of a woman was found Thursday inside a clothing donation box near Los Angeles, authorities said.  The unidentified woman climbed into the box in Santa Clarita and was reported around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Orchard Village Road and Lyons Avenue., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said, Fox Los Angeles reported.
