Gemma Atkinson announces brand new TV role on show that helped her and daughter through lockdown

Gemma Atkinson has excitedly revealed her next big project after having to keep quiet for months on what she has been up to.
The Hits Radio host announced on Instagram on Monday (March 21) that she is joining a TV show which helped her and her almost three-year-old daughter through lockdown. Gemma, 37, is joining CBeebies and will appear on its The Toddler Club show from next month after spending January filming for the programme.
Posting a promo photo alongside host Nigel Clarke, the mum-of-one told her millions of followers: "Yay!!! I can finally let you guys know that I’ve joined the @cbeebieshq team for their wonderful show @thebabyclubtv.

"This show helped me so much through the first lockdown with Mia so to now be a host feels so Great! To the parents & toddlers who took part, THANK YOU!"
She then went on to say: "This show is about showing all aspects of parenting. No judgement, lots of laughs, snot, tears and tantrums. Basically the everyday life of parenting that we all navigate in our own way.
"Thank you so much to the team for trusting me with my role, and to @nigelclarketv for being so welcoming. Hope you guys enjoy the show and I look forward to keeping you & your little ones company in your home from April."
Gemma's fiance, Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez, was among the first to comment and share his pride. He wrote under the post: "Couldn’t be more PROUD OF YOU."
Helen Flanagan also said: "Congratulations darling," as her on-screen sister Brooke Vincent added a raising hands and applause emojis. And fans were quick to share their joy for Gemma.
"Ohh yaaaayyy you’re so perfect for this!"
