For many of us, Blue Peter was a staple part of our childhoods. On our screens since 1958, we've seen a plethora of different presenters on the show. In the early days, Christopher Trace and Leila Williams spoke to viewers and since, another 39 people have joined the adventure.
The series has always been known for its fun and crazy capers, from extreme challenges to "here's one we made earlier".
Sadly, despite the positive and silly moments on screen, some of the stars have faced real-life sadness. After the death of Diane Louise Jordan's husband, we take a closer look at tragedies faced by past hosts... Diane Louise Jordan- 1990-1996 The former presenter joined the show in 1990 and was the first black host on the series.
She had a great rapport with her colleague Anthea Turner and was popular with viewers. Diane also hosted Blue Peter alongside Yvette Fielding, John Leslie, Tim Vincent, Stuart Miles and Katy Hill. She was on the show until 1996, much to the disappointment of her fans, who were sad she was leaving.
She told the Sun in 2022: "I went from being potentially something that could bring the programme into some awful disrepute to being one of the presenters that is very warmly received." She's continued presenting since Blue Peter, most recently appearing on Songs Of Praise. Diane also found love with musician Giles Broadbent, who she was married to since 2007. Sadly, it was announced yesterday that Giles had died following a short illness.

These movies could strike an emotional chord with Academy members when they cast their ballots.

When it comes to road trips, Route 66 is one of the most well-known. As the Main Street of America and the Mother Road, Route 66 goes by many nicknames and holidaymakers from across the globe flock to the US to travel all or part of the route, which spans from Chicago to Los Angeles. Spanning 2,448 miles from end-to-end, Route 66 is the quintessential American road trip and those wanting to make the trip can expect to see quirky landmarks, antique shops and diners that look frozen in time - as OK! found out earlier this year.
