Friday Night Lights star Garrett Hedlund has reportedly been arrested for public intoxication. Just days after it was revealed that the actor had split from Scream Queens star Emma Roberts, TMZ has reported that he was apprehended by police in Franklin County, Tennessee, on Saturday evening.The publication reports that the 37 year old was in custody but has been released on a $2,100 bond following his misdemeanour arrest.
He is reportedly due back in court in March. Garrett's reported arrest for intoxication could pose a problem for him as he is currently on three years probation following a previous DUI case.
Just days earlier, it was reported that the Troy actor was being sued for negligence for a car crash that took place on the night of his DUI arrest in January 2020. He has been accused of crashing into another car, which carried a woman and three children, while passed out drunk behind the wheel of his Jeep and running a red light.
In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Garrett's blood alcohol level on the night was reportedly twice the legal limit of .08.The actor's behaviour on the night was labelled as "despicable" in the documents.The complaint read: "Hedlund's conduct was despicable in that he knew and was educated in the dangers presented to Plaintiffs and the public when he operated a vehicle while intoxicated. "There was a very strong odour of hard liquor emitting from Hedlund's breath, body, and the cab of the Jeep despite the windows being open/broken." The family also claimed he tried to flee the scene without calling an ambulance.They are suing Garrett for damages.
