The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is one of the most iconic television shows in history. Everyone knows the theme song by heart, everyone mourned the loss of James Avery aka Uncle Phil, and everyone remembers that one point in the show when Will’s mom is replaced with another woman- and everyone was supposed to pretend like it never happened.

Will Smith has opened up about his public falling out with his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star Janet Hubert.The 52 year old, whose wife Jada recently spoke out about her relationship with August Alsina, took part in an emotional reunion with the star in a special for HBO Max. Janet, 64, played the original Aunt Viv in the popular American sitcom, but was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid in 1993 after quitting the show due to person circumstances.

Will Smith and the cast of came together for a 75-minute reunion special on HBO Max, which dropped a day early Wednesday, and they took a moment to remember the late James Avery, who played the beloved Banks patriarch, Uncle Phil, for six seasons.Avery, who died in 2013 at age 68 following complications from open heart surgery, was credited by the cast as being «the heart of the show.» «He was my teacher.

Will Smith and Janet Hubert are squashing their beef for the first time in 27 years, following her exit from in 1993.Hubert, best known as «the original Aunt Viv,» left the sitcom after the first three seasons over «creative differences.» She was promptly replaced by actress Daphne Maxwell Reid the following season without any mention of the recasting.
