Former Greater Manchester Police officer accused of stealing police uniform

A former police constable accused of stealing equipment from Greater Manchester Police appeared in court today. Abigail Barlow, of Clifton Street, Milnrow, Rochdale, who faces three charges, appeared before Liverpool Magistrates Court.
The 33-year-old is accused of theft by employee involving stealing a police high visibility TAC Vest with epaulettes, a police utility belt, operational top with epaulettes, a retractable baton and a PAVA spray at Rochdale.
She is also charged with possessing a PAVA spray without authority and possessing a police retractable baton. All the offences are alleged to have taken place between January 20 and April 18 last year.
District Judge Timothy Boswell heard that her solicitor was not present, as had been expected, and legal aid had not been sorted out. He further remanded her on unconditional bail until April 22 when she is expected to enter her pleas.
