Forensic officers are examining a knife at the scene of a fatal stabbing in Stalybridge.
An investigation was launched after a woman was found with 'multiple' stab wounds on Lake Road at around 3.40am this morning (Wednesday).
The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
A man, also aged in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody where
