So it’s Focus Features, not A24, that will ultimately acquire global on Miranda July’s Kajillionaire which made its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Focus will handle domestic, while Universal will release abroad.
A24 had made the first bid to Annapurna, but sources says the studio was waiting for others to come in.

HBO Max has given out a pilot order to the comedy “Minx,” Variety has learned.
A brand new image has landed from the upcoming sequel Bill & Ted Face The Music. The film finally lands in the summer near 30 years after the debut of the last film. Amongst the cast are the likes of Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi), Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, William Sadler, Hal Landon Jr. and Amy Stoch.

Brent Faiyaz just dropped his latest project, Fuck the World. The tracklist includes the previously released tracks, “Fuck the World (Summer in London)” and “Rehab (Winter In Paris).” This is the DMV artist’s first release since 2018’s Lost.
Miranda July’s “Kajillionaire” is still in the black, but a different distributor is close to winning the project out of the Sundance Film Festival.
