Flavor Flav Blasts Chuck D Over Firing: “There Is No Public Enemy Without Flavor Flav”

Public Enemy Radio — a subsidiary of Public Enemy featuring only Chuck D — were scheduled to perform at a Bernie Sanders rally in California on Sunday, ahead of this week’s Super Tuesday Democratic primaries. Shortly after the performance was announced, though, founding Public Enemy member Flavor Flav issued a cease and desist to Sanders’ campaign, complaining that he had not authorized for the Sanders campaign to use his likeness.

Super Tuesday is a big day for Bernie Sanders but his role in the demise of relations between Flavor Flav and the rest of Public Enemy won't be on his mind. The group parted ways with Flav over the weekend after he refused to perform at a rally for Sanders in Los Angeles.

The drama between Public Enemy and Flavor Flav keeps on boiling following the latter's firing from the group.In a new statement received by Billboard on Monday (Mar. 2) signed by Public Enemy's Chuck D, James Bomb, DJ Lord, Pop Diesel and Jahi, the group clarifies that it "did not part ways with Flavor Flav over his political views." The statement comes days after Flav shared an open letter from his legal representation regarding Bernie Sanders' Los Angeles rally on Sunday (March 1).
