Humble Games has announced Into The Pit, a fast-paced retro-FPS roguelite where instead of guns players cast dark magic, similar to classic dark fantasy FPS Heretic.Revealed during Xbox‘s Gamesom showcase yesterday (August 24), the game developed by Nullpointer Games is set in a gothic village, the Victorian stylings similar to Bloodborne, where a “demonic pit” has appeared.

Xbox livestream at Gamescom 2021, Humble Games has said that ten of its indie titles will release on Xbox Game Pass on day one. All ten will be available on console, PC, and the cloud, and a round-up of the games can be seen in the video below.

Oddworld Inhabitants has announced that Oddworld: Soulstorm will be released for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One soon.A part remake of 1998’s Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus and part sequel to 2014’s Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty, the game was previously only available for PlayStation and PC.

Oculus Quest exclusive Myst remake, which launched at the end of last year, is now coming to PC, Mac and Xbox.Developer Cyan Worlds rebuilt the game from the ground up for Oculus Quest last year, but now that version is launching on PC, Mac and Xbox Series S|X later this month. It features the same islands, but with completely new visuals.Myst features new art, sound, supersampling, ray-tracing, and VR compatibility.

Xbox Phil Spencer has said in a recent interview that Xbox Game Pass won’t be coming to other consoles in the near future.In a GamesRadar interview, Spencer was asked about the potential of Game Pass on Nintendo Switch, and he replied: “We have no plans to bring it to any other kind of closed platforms right now, mainly because those closed platforms don’t want something like Game Pass.”“There’s a ton of open platforms out there for us to grow in: the web, PC, and mobile.

The Ascent‘s first patch has been released and introduces ray tracing for PC players using Xbox Game Pass, amongst other performance and stability fixes.Released just over a week after the game’s launch, the patch fixes the lack of ray tracing and DLSS that PC users of Xbox Game Pass were very unhappy about.

Spec Ops: The Line creative director and designer Cory Davis and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck have announced the creation of a new games studio, Eyes Out.As reported in gamesindustry.biz, the Los Angeles-based studio is working on its debut game, which is being described as a “single-player immersive cosmic horror game with strong environmental storytelling elements”.Davis worked at Yager Development from 2008 to 2012, as the lead designer and creative lead for Spec Ops: The Line.
