A man who found love on First Dates has revealed he has just five years left to live. Mike Sumner made a connection with Zoe Welch on the Channel 4 show and the couple have since moved in together, but sadly the 38 year old has now revealed his incurable illness.gh Mike has Motor Neurone Disease – a condition that affects the brain and nerves. It causes weakness that gets worse over time and there is no cure.

He recently shared of his illness since the show: "It has worsened recently, for example, I've lost a certain amount of dexterity in my left hand," he told Grimsby Live. "My balance is still a total nightmare too and my speech has also slowed down recently. "I do have bad days, but Zoe has definitely kept me going and kept me positive, especially during lockdown.” First Dates sees singletons matched up with one another on a dinner date in the hope they will make a connection and fall for one another.
Opening up about applying for the show, Mike said: “I'd watched it for years and at the end of the series in 2019, they were asking for applicants. I thought I'd fill it in, but I wasn't sure if it would really come to anything." He was then contacted by the programme in January 2020 and was invited to a number of video meetings to "work out how funny I was and if I could be entertaining enough to appear on the show". First Dates star Cici Coleman has been rushed to hospital in Bali after she was struck down by a mystery illness.The Channel 4 actress, who recently opened up on the period she was homeless between jobs, had embarked on her travels around Indonesia when she started to feel poorly. Unfortunately, the 35 year old reality TV beauty had come down with "Bali belly," which is a condition based on an upset stomach due to eating and drinking vastly different foods from your normal diet. It is also caused by bacteria that can be found in contaminated food and water and lead to severe diarrhoea in some cases.

Cici Coleman will reprise her role as a waitress on Teen First Dates this evening, and speaking to new! this week the star opened up about her job outside of the show. The First Dates waitress is currently living in Bali and running a fitness business, telling OK! that she stopped waitressing outside the show as she was getting recognised too much. The star isn't the only member of the team to have a job outside of her role on the show, with fellow waitress Laura Tott recently becoming a paramedic and Austin Ventour working as a model.
