First China Cinema Attempts to Re-Open After Coronavirus Closures

The New England Patriots plane is flying much-needed coronavirus crisis medical supplies to Boston from China, CBS Boston reports. A Patriots spokesperson said the team's Boeing 767 went to Shenzhen, China Wednesday to pick up 1.2 million N95 masks, and it's now on its way back to the U.S.

Theatrical box office in the Asia-Pacific region fell 85 percent in the first two months of 2020, an unprecedented crash brought on by the emergence and explosive spread of the new coronavirus, says a new report from S&P Global Intelligence. As alarm over the virus radiated outwards from China in late January, many cinemas throughout the region shut down, audiences began avoiding those theaters that were still open, and distributors canceled scores of new releases.

China’s main state-owned distributor plans to issue a batch of half a dozen films, from which cinemas will keep all income, in order to get the country’s exhibition sector back on its feet after long closures due to coronavirus, it has said.

“We can’t stay closed forever"

Research by Chinese ticketing agency Maoyan appears to show that Chinese people have not lost their taste for feature films during the recent coronavirus-enforced closure of cinemas.

Hollywood stars are coming out of self-isolation to shade U.S. President Donald Trump for his recent coronavirus remarks.

A theater in China has decided to reopen its’ doors to the public after being locked up since the end of January due to coronavirus. However, no one showed up!

The ongoing Coronavirus which originated in the China's city of Wuhan has now brought the entire world to its knees. State-wide closures and lockdowns has left many countries struggling for basic necessities.
