A horrified family were woken in the early hours of Easter Sunday to find their garden shed a flaming fireball after a deliberate fire attack.
Jamie and Martin Bayliss along with their two daughters lost thousands of pounds worth of possessions in the blaze at their home in Beattie Avenue, Cross Heath.
The family were asleep with the shed was targeted by a firebug at roughly 2am on Sunday, but were woken by their dogs barking as the inferno took hold.
Firefighters attended the scene and were able to extinguish the flames by 4.30am, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.
However, everything in the outbuilding was destroyed including including tools, bikes and camping equipment.
Jamie believes arsonists are targeting the local area, after two similar incidents in the same street in the past week.
She said: "When we got up and saw the fire it was starting to spread in the direction of the other houses, so it was lucky that it was stopped.
"We were both asleep, it was actually our daughter who woke up first. The firefighters were great, and stayed here until around 4.30am – that's how long it took them to put the fire out.
"This is the second arson attack like this in our street this week. There was also a similar incident last summer, so it's been going on a while.
"But it doesn't seem like anything is being done about it. There was talk about installing a gate to stop people accessing the alley at night, but nothing has happened.
"It doesn't look like there was any attempt to steal anything. There were expensive tools that they could have taken, as well as the bikes.
"But it just looks like they started the fire for the sake of it. It was heartbreaking to see everything destroyed."
Jamie hopes the police can track down the people
