Human trials for a new male contraceptive pill are set to begin later this year.The pills have already been tested on mice, and the studies found that they were 99% effective in preventing pregnancies. Crucially, this could mean that in the near future men could be taking more responsibility over birth control – especially as it's hoped that the new pill won't trigger the same side effects as the current oral contraceptives prescribed for women (more on that later!).

Numbers updated this morning by the CDC indicate that the percentage of new Covid cases across the United States tied to the even more transmissible BA.2 variant has jumped from 23% in early March to 35% this week. On the positive side, that means the rate of increase has slowed from two 100% jumps over the previous month to a little less than 50% in the past two weeks. But there are portions of the country that are much worse. See map below, where BA.2 is represented in pink.

The deal was negotiated by Kino Lorber senior VP Wendy Lidell and Le Pacte’s head of sales Camille Neel out of the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema market hosted by Unifrance and the Film at Lincoln Center.“On The Edge” marks the sophomore outing of Gederlini, who co-wrote Ladj Ly’s Oscar-nominated film “Les Miserables.” The gritty and twisty noir is set in Brussels, where Leo, a Spanish metro driver, saw his estranged son right before he fell onto the rails and died.
