Prior credits from the director include Sundance Special Jury Prize winner “As You Are,” and the Margot Robbie-starring “Dreamland.” Aside from the three leads, additional cast includes Dilone, Hopper Penn, Norm Lewis and Karen Aldridge.“Mother’s Milk” follows a journalist who, after the murder of her estranged son, forms an unlikely alliance with his pregnant girlfriend to track down those responsible for his death.

The 66th BFI London Film Festival has set Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical as its Opening Night Gala. Directed by Matthew Warchus and starring Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, Stephen Graham, Andrea Riseborough, Sindhu Vee and Alisha Weir as the eponymous Matilda, the film will have its world premiere on October 5 at the Southbank Centre in the Royal Festival Hall. Sony Pictures UK and TriStar release theatrically in the UK on December 2. Netflix will release the film elsewhere during the holiday season.

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has promised that the 26th film of the franchise will “reinvent” 007.Speaking at a recent dinner event, in which she and her half-brother Michael G Wilson were presented with BFI Fellowships, Broccoli said that they have not yet cast a replacement for Daniel Craig.“Nobody’s in the running,” she said in a speech [via Deadline]. “We’re working out where to go with him, we’re talking that through.”The producer also stated that the next Bond film won’t begin filming until at least 2025, with a clear direction for the story yet to be decided.“There isn’t a script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next film because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond,” she said.

The Gaslight Anthem played a surprise show in New Jersey at the weekend (June 18) ahead of their comeback tour later this summer.The band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, but played together in 2018 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their second album ‘The ‘59 Sound’.In March 2022, frontman Brian Fallon announced online that the band would be returning to “full-time status”, including working on their sixth album and heading back out on the road. The tour is set to kick off in Europe in August.Before that, however, The Gaslight Anthem surprised fans who turned up at New Jersey venue Crossroads for a solo show from Fallon.

Heat prequel film.Pacino, who played detective Vincent Hanna in Michael Mann’s 1995 crime film, recently took part in a panel discussion about Mann’s novelisation of Heat 2 and speculated on a potential film.According to Entertainment Weekly, panel moderator Bilge Ebiri asked Pacino and his Heat co-star Robert De Niro (who played criminal Neil McCauley) who they would like to play the younger versions of their characters.Pacino then shouted “Timothée Chalamet!” to which the audience cheered, then adding: “He’s a wonderful actor.”Heat 2, co-written by Meg Gardiner, is set to be released on August 9 and is billed as both a sequel and prequel to the events of Heat.Meanwhile, Timothée Chalamet is next set to play Willy Wonka in the forthcoming Charlie And The Chocolate Factory prequel film.The actor will play a young version of the chocolate factory owner in Wonka, which is set to be released in 2023.Wonka will look at the Roald Dahl character’s adventures before he opens his chocolate factory, with song and dance numbers reportedly set to be included as well.
