ATLANTA – Some voters in Atlanta told Fox News they were less than enthusiastic about either of their senate candidates, while others stood firmly in support of Sen. Raphael Warnock ahead of his debate with Herschel Walker.  "I think they’re both horrible candidates, obviously," one man, Simon, told Fox News.  But another voter, Al, said the decision between the two men was "pretty easy." "Herschel Walker was a football player. He's not a politician.

‘Atlanta’ Writer Stephen Glover on Creating a Soulja Boy-Inspired Serial Killer to Honor the ‘Crank Dat’ Era

Selome Hailu SPOILER ALERT: Do not read if you haven’t watched “Crank Dat Killer,” Season 4, Episode 6 of “Atlanta.” In 2006 and 2007, Atlanta was experiencing a renaissance. A renaissance of snap music, to be specific. The city was already producing hits like Dem Franchise Boyz’s “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It” and D4L’s “Laffy Taffy.” Then, Soulja Boy released his debut single Crank That (Soulja Boy)” just as the concept of YouTube virality was coming into existence, prompting thousands of Atlantans to create their own versions — from “Crank Dat Yank” to “Crank Dat Roosevelt” to a “Super Mario” version — while the rest of the country watched.

‘Atlanta:’ How Japanese Breakfast and Gil Scott-Heron Were Woven Into Show’s Rap-Centric World

EJ Panaligan editor A show about a down-on-his-luck college dropout and his rapper cousin navigating the music industry as the latter’s star rises; created by a multi-hyphenate who, at one point, was a full-time rapper himself; set in what many might argue was the rap capital of the United States for most of the past decade… You’d think Donald Glover’s FX series “Atlanta” would be a cakewalk for song placements — license a few Migos, Young Thug and Gucci Mane tracks and call it a day — but music supervisors Jen Malone and Fam Udeorji are anything but paint-by-numbers. While musically, the series pays ample homage to its titular hometown, the pair has worked closely with Glover and the rest of the show’s writers room throughout its four-season run — coming to an end in November — to establish a musical palette that simultaneously reflects Atlanta while also expanding far beyond the city limits.

Stacey Abrams' campaign has spent over $1.2M on private security since December

Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams has spent over $1.2 million on private security since announcing her candidacy in December 2021 despite her ties to multiple abolitionist groups and opposition to the "privatization of justice." A Fox News Digital review found that the Abrams campaign doled out over $400,000 between July and August of this year alone for private security.  These payments follow an exclusive report from July that found the Abrams campaign paid out over $800,000 to Executive Protection Agencies, LLC, an Atlanta-based private security firm, between December 2021 and June of this year. The company’s website says the group provides executive protection that comes with a "keen eye with a thorough knowledge of the venue through threat assessment" for its clients. The website also says the company provides armed and unarmed security guards.  Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams speaks to supporters and members of the Rabun County Democrats July 28, 2022, in Clayton, Ga.  (Megan Varner/Getty Images) The campaign and the private security firm didn't immediately return requests for comment Sunday about which guards the Abrams campaign uses.

Homeless Atlanta man expected to receive millions from being paralyzed by fall after officer Tasered him

A homeless man who fell, hurt himself and ended up paralyzed while running away from Atlanta police officers is expected to receive a multimillion-dollar payout from the city, which could impact future services, one city leader said.  A jury initially awarded Jerry Blasingame $100 million after he was Tasered and left paralyzed. A federal judge reduced the amount, meaning Blasingame could receive at least a $40 million payout, Fox Atlanta reported.  "This would put a substantial dent in the amount of services that we would be able to provide to citizens across the board," City Councilman Michael Bond told the news outlet.  Blasingame, 69, was panhandling near a freeway when he attempted to run away during the July 10, 2018, encounter with police officers.
