Oscar-winning Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who created the coyote-howl theme for the iconic Spaghetti Western “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and often haunting soundtracks for such classic Hollywood gangster movies as “The Untouchables” and the epic “Once Upon A Time In America”, died on Monday. Legendary composer Ennio Morricone has died, aged 91, due to complications following an operation. His passing was confirmed by the composer himself, in a statement read by his lawyer outside the hospital where he died, titled “I, Ennio Morricone, am dead”.With a prolific output throughout his adult life, Morricone composed scores for more than 500 films.
