Joe Otterson TV ReporterAmazon has commissioned a new Canadian original comedy series titled “The Sticky,” Variety has learned.The series is inspired by the true story of “The Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist.” The English language half-hour series will be set in Quebec.It revolves around Ruth Clarke, a tough, supremely competent middle-aged Canadian maple syrup farmer who’s had it with being hemmed in by the polite, bureaucratic conventions native to her country’s identity. Especially now that that very bureaucracy is threatening to take away everything she loves: Her farm, her comatose husband, and her right to manifest destiny.

The BBC has acquired HBO Max’s Ansel Elgort-starring Tokyo Vice from Endeavor Content.

In the Apple TV+ series Pachinko, Solomon (Jin Ha) speaks Korean, Japanese and English. The show, based on Min Jin Lee’s book, traces four generations of his family from Korea and Japan (as Zainichi Koreans), so all three languages are involved. Ha does not speak Japanese and studied the different dialects with vocal coach Yu-Mi Kang.

BTS almost didn’t perform at the ceremony.In the latest episode of Rolling Stone’s Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, Grammys executive producers and showrunners Ben Winston and Raj Kapoor spoke about several behind-the-scenes secrets of this year’s ceremony.One incident that happened behind-the-scenes was that K-pop group BTS were nearly unable to perform due to positive COVID-19 tests from some members. They also recalled how the boyband were unable to rehearse with all seven members until a day before the ceremony.“There were times when we were worried they weren’t gonna be able to be here,” Winston revealed.

Naman Ramachandran Fremantle has become the majority shareholder in U.K. indie Dancing Ledge Productions, the production company behind BBC hits “The Responder” and “The Salisbury Poisonings.”Fremantle previously held a minority stake and has upped its share in the company, which was founded by CEO Laurence Bowen in 2016, with backing from Fremantle. “Les Misérables” producer Chris Carey joined as managing director and executive producer in March 2020.

Prince Charles was pictured offering a gentlemanly greeting to Queen Letizia of Spain as the pair carried out a joint public engagement in Country Durham on Tuesday.The 72 year old appeared in happy spirits as he greeted the Spanish royal, giving Queen Letizia a kiss on the cheek before squeezing her hand fondly during their arrival at Auckland Castle in Bishop Auckland. Katie Price’s sister Sophie is setting up her own baby clothing range – after it was revealed their joint business, Little Pricey Clothing, has reportedly shut down without making a single sale.The 43 year old reality star started the venture with her younger sister Sophie Price last year.The company was registered in March 2021, but Sophie applied for the business to be struck off from Companies House in December last year before Little Pricey Clothing was dissolved on March 1 2022. However, Sophie has now announced she’s launching a new business by herself called Albert & Me, named after her baby son Albert.
