Emmerdale enthusiasts believe they've figured out how the show will reveal Zak Dingle's passing.
The role was portrayed by the recently deceased Steve Halliwell. First appearing in 1994, Zak quickly became a fan favourite as the patriarch of the Dingle family.
Steve died at the age of 77 last year after a series of health issues. His family announced at the time: "He went to sleep, peacefully with his loved ones around him."
They also remarked: "He was making us laugh to the end, the most amazing father and grandfather you could ever wish for, family was everything to him."
Steve was an integral part of the ITV series for numerous years until about last year. During that period, Zak was seldom seen on screen, instead spending time in Scotland with other members of the Dingle family, reports the Daily Star.
Now, viewers are speculating that the soap will soon confirm Zak's demise, and some are convinced that Belle, his on-screen daughter, might receive another devastating blow upon hearing the news.
On a Reddit discussion, one user speculated: "Predictions for how they will announce Zak's death? " The same individual suggested: "I personally think Debbie will return to the village and come to Wishing Well Cottage and gather all the Dingle's and tell them about Zak."
Yet, there are those who believe that it could be Zak's daughter Belle who faces further heartache from the loss. As fans know, Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Droper) is currently embroiled in a harrowing domestic abuse storyline with her new spouse Tom (portrayed by James Chase).
One fan speculation about Zak's death in the ITV soap includes a link to Belle and Tom's abusive storyline. They considered: "I think they'll probably find a way of linking
