Emily Andrea has admitted that she’s holding off letting her eight year old daughter get a mobile phone. Writing exclusively in her OK! column, the NHS doctor says that she thinks allowing Millie to have one opens up the “scope for bullying and online abuse”.The mum-of-two’s comments came as she discussed singer Pink’s recent quotes where she revealed that she isn’t allowing her 10 year old daughter Willow to have a phone yet. Pink, 42, said: “There’s a light side and a shadow side to technology in general for adults, as well.
“For kids, I’m not there yet. I have a 10-year-old who does not have a phone, although she pointed out to me yesterday: ‘You know most of the kids in my class, fifth grade, have a phone.’ Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter. “That doesn’t move my needle.
I don’t care.” And sharing her own thoughts, Emily, 32, wrote: “Singer Pink has admitted that she’s not ready to let her 10-year-old daughter, Willow, have a phone yet. “For me, with the kids, it depends on the situation and how they’re getting to and from school. As Millie (eight) gets older, if she was getting herself to school or waiting for a bus, then I would think having a mobile phone was reasonable.” She continues that she doesn’t think it’s “necessary” for her eldest child to have own phone at this present time.
“But now it doesn’t seem necessary because she is either with an adult at school or with me and Pete,” she says. “I didn’t get a mobile phone until I was 16! These days, I think it will be quite hard to hold off until then. “Millie will jokingly ask for a phone now and again.
