Payne have found success as the showrunners of Amazon’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” but before they resurrected Middle Earth it was the Starship Enterprise they tried to get off the ground. McKay and Payne wrote a “Star Trek Beyond” sequel for director S.J. Clarkson that would’ve served as the fourth film in the J.J. Abrams-backed reboot series starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and more. The script, which McKay and Payne have rarely spoken about, featured Chris Hemsworth returning as George Kirk, father of Pine’s James Kirk. “I would love to tell you about it,” McKay told Esquire magazine, opening up in detail for the first time about the “Star Trek” movie never made. “We worked on a couple of ‘Star Trek’ movies. The one you’re asking about would have been the fourth in the franchise, reuniting Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pine. The conceit was that through a cosmic quirk in the ‘Star Trek’ world, they were the same age. It was going to be a grand father-son space adventure—think ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ in space. We were really thrilled about it.”

Eileen was best known for her roles in Little House On The Prairie and At Close Range, and she was also mother to successful actor Sean Penn, 62, musician Michael Penn, 64, and late actor Chris Penn, who died in 2006 at age 40. She was married to her sons' father, actor and director Leo Penn, from 1957 until he passed away in 1998.

Sean Penn, died at her home in Malibu Sunday, according to a statement from Penn's rep. She was 94. Ryan made her Broadway debut in 1953's  before appearing in over 60 television shows and films over her storied career, including 2002’s E and Feast in 2005. She also starred in the film  in 1999 and alongside her son Sean in 2001's .She would go on to star in several films alongside her son, including , , ,  and .As far as TV goes, Ryan appeared on the  episode «A World of Difference» as well as , ,  and also 1972's  and , where she was directed by her husband, the late Leo Penn. He also helped direct her on episodes of , , ,  and in the 1988 movie .Her last on-screen credit was in Warren Beatty's  in 2016.Born Eileen Annucci, Ryan met Leo in 1957 in New York City at rehearsals for, according to the statement.
