HSBC to close 82 branches and making major changes with Edinburgh branch first to shut

HSBC has announced it is set to close 82 branches across the UK, starting with Edinburgh's Princes Street on April 23. Approximately three branches will be closing each week, including Falkirk High Street on June 11, until the end of September and HSBC said the Covid-19 pandemic has prompted a greater shift to online banking, although it insisted the closures were not entirely related to lockdowns and restrictions in place across the country.
