Police in Wigan have issued a warning after a man scammed a member of the public out of £7,500 by pretending to be a police officer.

GMP have released an e-fit after a 92-year-old pensioner handed a 'large amount of cash' to a man who was pretending to be a police officer in Salford.
Police say they want to speak to the man shown in the computer-generated photograph in connection with the fraud, which happened at an address in Worlsey earlier this month. A woman, aged 92, was said to have handed over a considerable quantity of money to the man, as she believed he was a legitimate police officer.
Anyone who recognises the male in the picture is being urged to contact police immediately by calling 0161 856 7769 or by using the 101 service. In a post on Twitter, the force said: "Do you recognise this male? We want to speak to him after a woman, 92, was a victim of fraud earlier this month.
