People on certain disability benefits will get a £150 cost of living payment from next week as part of the government's wider support package. It's the second payment out of five to be made since the government announced its plans to help the worst-off tackle rising prices.
Some of the most vulnerable households could receive as much as £1,350 in direct payments over this year and next. In spring, the first instalment of the £900 cost of living payment for people on benefits such as Universal Credit was made, and now the £150 disability payment is about to be sent out by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
Other payments to be made later this year and next include the second and third instalments of the £900 cost of living payment and a £300 payment to pensioners.
