Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has started writing to nearly six million people across the UK confirming their Universal Credit payment will be cut by £20-a-week from October 1, 2021. Despite many vocal objections to the ending of the uplift, brought in at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in April 2020, the DWP plans to go ahead with the monthly reduction.
