told CBS Sunday Morning in an interview that airs Oct. 9. “I will say this ‘cause it requires a B-side to this.
I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. And that’s the most important thing to me is being a daddy, number one, especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives.”Johnson added that the time he’s spent on the road with his many projects and commitments has made him value time with his family all the more.“I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years in my first daughter’s. …Growing up in this critical age at this critical time in their life, and that’s what the presidency will do.
So my number one priority is my daughters.”Johnson added, “Sure, CEO sounds great. But the number one thing I wanna be is daddy. That’s it.”A year ago, Johnson was more open to the idea of running for the highest office in the United States, saying “indicators are all very positive in, for example, 2024 and in, for example, 2028.” He acknowledged his lack of expertise in the realm of politics, but noted his love of country.“You know, at the end of the day, I don’t know the first thing about politics,” Johnson said in 2021.
“I don’t know the first thing about policy. I care deeply about our country. I care about every f–king American who bleeds red, and that’s all of them.
And – there’s no delusion here – I may have some decent leadership qualities, but that doesn’t necessarily make me a great presidential candidate. That’s where I am today.”But upon further reflection, it sounds like Johnson has ruled out a run for president. At least for now.
