Dumbarton’s iconic Skylark IX little ship will be celebrated as part of Scotland’s Year of Stories.

A celebratory event will launch the tapestry on June 4 - and it will include expert talks, a film sharing an oral history project, a storytelling performance by local people and an illustration workshop for young people.
Meanwhile a Climate Cafe will be held in Helensburgh’s Tower Digital Arts Centre in April, telling tales from environmentalists, climate scientists, local communities and school children, recorded at Cove Park.
Culture Minister Jenny Gilruth said: “2022 is the year we celebrate Scotland’s Year of Stories. Storytelling and celebrating our unique oral history tradition has never been more important as we continue to respond to the impacts of the pandemic.
