The Future Nostalgia singer took to her Instagram Story to celebrate the 8-year anniversary of her first single and music video, “New Love.”
Although the song didn’t quite reach the heights of “New Rules” or “Don’t Start Now,” the tune will always hold a special place in Dua‘s heart.

“8 years ago I released my first song that I wrote with @wyattish [Andrew Wyatt] and @emilehaynie [Emile Haynie] (and video!),” Dua captioned her post. “19 year old me would be very happy to know we’d get this far.”
Dua is currently working on her third album, which she recently confirmed will be out in 2024. The next body of work will have a new sound but stay true to her pop roots.
