‘Drive My Car,’ ‘Flee,’ ‘A Hero’ Make Oscars 2022 International Film Shortlist

Refresh for latest…: Arachnomania continues to grip the globe as Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home has increased its worldwide cume to $1.53B through four weekends. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker now fronts the No. 8 movie on the all-time global chart with No Way Home leaping past Marvel’s The Avengers, Furious 7, Frozen II and Avengers: Age Of Ultron across the frame.

The adulation for Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s “Drive My Car” continues. After winning Best Film from both the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the New York Film Critics Circle, Japan’s submission for the International Film Oscar dominated the winner’s list from the National Society of Critics.

Clayton Davis The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has announced the shortlists in 10 categories for the upcoming 94th Oscars ceremony.The shortlist voting concluded on Dec. 15, and the remaining ones will move on to the official phase one voting.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today unveiled its shortlist of 15 films that will advance to the next stage of voting in the International Feature Film category at the Oscars. Notable among omissions is Julia Ducournau’s Titane, the entry from France which won the Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or — becoming only the second movie directed by a woman to scoop that prize.

The 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die, made a strong showing the shortlists released Tuesday for the 94th Oscars, with mentions in five categories (Song, Score, Sound, Visual Effects, Makeup and Hairstyling) to lead all films. Dune, with four mentions in the same categories except Song was close behind.
