Drake is responding to the now-viral Twitter account that tracks celebrity private jet flights.
Notably, the Twitter account tracks how long the celebrity’s jet is actually in the air and how much fuel it may use. The Twitter account has gone viral due to the climate change crisis and the fossil fuel emissions associated with some of these shorter flights.
One of the tweets that was sent out last week noted that Drake‘s private jet was in the air for a total of 14 minutes flying between two different airports in Canada. Fans were not happy to see that Drake allegedly took such a short flight, and would rack up a fuel bill of about $2,729.
Now, Drake is responding to the viral tweet about his flight time.

Taylor Swift has responded to critics after she topped a list of celebrities that have taken the most private flights. The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker has been accused of damaging the environment after her jet flew 170 times between January 1 and July 19 2022. The research gathered by Yard revealed that Taylor, 32, spent more than 22,000 minutes in the air - the equivalent of 16 days - but a representative for the star claimed she is not solely responsible for the emissions.
Taylor Swift has something to say about that damning report that placed her in the number one spot as the celebrity whose private jet produces the most carbon dioxide emissions!
Karen Bliss For Torontonians attending Drake’s History venue on Friday night, OVO — for October’s Very Own, the superstar’s enduring Canada-based brand — may as well have stood for Our Very Own.You could even say Drake made history with what he dubbed the “All Canadian North Stars,” a mind-blowing assembly of homegrown hip-hop and R&B artists who, as he wrote in his Instagram announcement of the lineup, “paved the way for all of us.”Some of the artists launched hip-hop in Canada long before the city was called TheSix or even the T-dot. And while it was never mentioned, it was hard not to notice the night was being filmed, possibly for a documentary.Drake has singlehandedly helped the careers of more than 100 Canadian producers, beatmakers and songwriters by using them on his albums (according to a count by music publisher Michael McCarty citing the performing rights organization SOCAN) — the majority from the Greater Toronto Area/Southern Ontario, in fact — and the All Canadian North Stars show was Drizzy’s chance to give flowers to many of the artists who helped him along the way. The three-and-a-half hour concert, which wrapped after 2 a.m., was the kick-off to Drake’s annual OVO weekend, which typically coincides with the end of the month-long Toronto Caribbean Carnival.
Kylie Jenner has been taking heat for a recent report on celebrities’ use of private jets and their impact on the environment, which reported that she once took her jet on a 17-minute flight between two destinations she could have traversed by car in just 45 minutes.
Drake has responded to claims that he and other celebrities have been taking super short flights on their private jets, rather than taking a form of travel that produces fewer CO2 emissions. His defence? It’s alright, his plane may have taken a super short flight recently, but he wasn’t on it.
Apparently, there is a good reason why Drake‘s private plane traveled a very short distance, not once, not twice, but three times last month — at least so he says.
Last week, after Kylie Jenner’s 17-minute private flight from Camarillo, California to nearby Van Nuys, prompted a flurry of online outrage, The Guardian published a list of other celebrities whose similar behavior had flown under the radar. The worst offender of the group was Drake, whose July 12 flight from his hometown of Toronto to the city of Hamilton, Ontario — only 38 miles away — had emitted five tons of CO2, an output larger than the average person’s annual carbon footprint.
