Drake being sued by ’80s brand Members Only for using phrase

Drake is facing a lawsuit after clothing brand Members Only alleged tour merch he sold infringed upon their company trademarks. In a case filed on Tuesday (June 12), it was claimed that Drake’s company, Away From Home Touring Inc., had been selling shirts that read ‘Members Only’ on the recent ‘It’s All a Blur‘ Tour. The words seemingly reference his track ‘Members Only’ from 2023 album ‘For all the Dogs’ and are not imitations of the recognisable Members Only racer jackets that made the brand popular in the 1980s.However, Members Only lawyers have said (via Billboard): “The fact that ‘Members Only’ is a song on Drake’s album ‘For All the Dogs’ does not obviate the likelihood of confusion or give [Drake] a license to use our client’s ‘Members Only’ marks in such a confusing manner, particularly on or in connection with apparel items.”They continued: “Away From Home’s use of ‘Members Only’ … is likely to cause confusion, mistake, and deception among consumers as to the origin of Away From Home’s infringing T-shirts.”Per Billboard, representatives for Drake have not yet responded to a request for comment. This is the latest legal battle facing the Canadian rapper, who recently was dismissed from lawsuits relative to Travis Scott‘s 2021 Astroworld festival disaster.

Deftones are most popular metal band during sex, while Nine Inch Nails rank top among BDSM enthusiasts, says study

Deftones are the most popular metal band to listen to during sex, according to a new study. The study was carried out by ZipHealth, which surveyed over 1,000 Americans to find out what listening habits they may have in the bedroom. Overall, it was found that 47 per cent of respondents said that they regularly listen to music during sex, and metal band Deftones were found to be one of the most popular choices. In addition to asking people as part of a survey, ZipHealth also analysed playlists across Spotify which contained the words “sex”, having sex”, “making love”, “freaky”, “BDSM” and “unprotected sex” in the title. While the findings showed that it was largely hip-hop and rap that dominated the most popular choices, the Chino Moreno-led band were placed in the Number Three spot overall, just behind The Weeknd, who topped the list, and Kanye West, who came in at second place. In fact, Deftones were the only band from a hard rock or metal category to be featured in the Top 10 overall acts.

Drake loses over half a million dollars in Fury vs. Usyk boxing bet

Drake has lost over $500,000 (£393,000) after betting that Tyson Fury would win the recent boxing match against Oleksandr Usyk. The rapper made the bet ahead of the match last Saturday (May 18), and shared a screenshot of a gambling slip on Instagram Stories – proving that he’d put a staggering $565,000 (£444,000) on Fury’s name via the online casino Stake. However, following Usyk proving victorious and becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion, the rapper has lost the huge sum.The victory was a close call, and Billboard highlighted how a judge at Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia originally scored the match 114-113 in Fury’s favour. This was then overturned by the two other judges who favoured Usyk 114-113 and 115-112, respectively. If Fury had taken home the win on the night, Drake would have had a payout of just over $1million (£786,600) from the bet.Drake bets $565K on Tyson Fury to beat undefeated Oleksandr Usyk pic.twitter.com/I8G4Os4dEK— HipHopDX (@HipHopDX) May 18, 2024The rapper is no stranger to placing large bets on sporting events, and has gathered a reputation in recent years for frequently losing huge amounts of money thanks to the “Drake curse”.Last summer, for instance, the rapper lost $250k after betting on UFC legend Nate Diaz during a boxing match between him and Jake Paul.
