After forty years in show business, what else is there left for Nicolas Cage to do? Tiffany Haddish-fronted murder mystery comedy The Afterparty will be back for a second case.

Selome Hailu The mystery continues.Apple TV Plus announced that “The Afterparty” has been renewed for a second season. Tiffany Haddish is confirmed to return in the role of Detective Danner.The series, which hails from Chris Miller and Phil Lord, is a comedic murder mystery where each episode is told in a different genre and from a different character’s perspective. For example, Episode 1 is styled like a romantic comedy, as it follows the narrative of escape room designer Aniq (Sam Richardson), whose primary goal is to reconnect to his high school crush Zoë (Zoë Chao).

Clayton Davis As one Oscar season comes to a close, another opens (at least to speculation) with Matt Reeves’ newest take on the Batman franchise starring Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano and Colin Farrell.The director and co-writer (along with Peter Craig) delivers a dark take on the world’s greatest detective as he battles villains the Riddler, the Penguin and (sorta, but not really) Catwoman. Receiving positive reviews from critics, will this new take on the Caped Crusader land major Oscar attention —  including best picture — following in the footsteps of “Black Panther” (2017) and “Joker” (2019)?But with a limited sense of what the rest of 2022 will have to offer the cinematic landscape, there are certainly two spots well worth considering “The Batman” for recognition: cinematography and original score.

The 53rd NAACP Image Awards has officially been kicked off!

LOS ANGELES -- Jennifer Hudson was named entertainer of the year at the 53rd annual NAACP Image Awards that highlighted works by entertainers and writers of color.After Hudson accepted the award Saturday night, the singer-actor thanked the NAACP for inspiring “little girls like me.” She beat out Regina King, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion and Tiffany Haddish.“I was just standing here thinking ‘It was here – the NAACP Awards – where I watched so many legends and icons that inspired me,” said the Oscar and Grammy winner. “Now, I’m standing here holding an award like this.

NAACP Image Awards has officially been kicked off! As usual, this year's ceremony honoring people of color across television, music, literature and film is preceded by a week-long celebration, with five nights of virtual awards leading up to Saturday's live telecast.Hosted by returning emcee and seven-time NAACP Image Awards winner Anthony Anderson, the ceremony will include Issa Rae, Kerry Washington, LL Cool J, Morgan Freeman, Questlove, Tiffany Haddish, Zendaya and more presenting awards, while Samuel L. Disney just announced a big release date!

Disney has dated Haunted Mansion for a theatrical release on March 10, 2023. The studio already had the date on hold for untitled event movie. No other major studio releases are dated for that weekend currently, however, the movie opens the weekend after Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons which is scheduled for March 3.
