Thomas Mullen, who was no longer entitled to be known as Father, died of cancer, aged 80.
His funeral, not publicised by the Catholic Church, took place at St Marie’s Church, Kirkcaldy, yesterday and was not attended by Archbishop Leo Cushley or the Scottish church hierarchy.
The mass was conducted by Mullen’s friend, local priest Father Brian Gowans.
