If twice-impeached-once-indicted former president Trump does end up in prison, the hosts of “The View” are a bit worried about him. Not about his well-being or anything, but about whether he’ll still run for president — and his designated clothing. To kick off Wednesday’s Hot Topics discussion, the women marveled at the idea of any presidential candidate considering a pardon for Trump for his actions leading to the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Host Sunny Hostin was particularly floored by those comparing a Trump pardon to Richard Nixon’s pardon.“Nixon resigned!” Hostin exclaimed.

Joy Behar’s comment that the GOP presidential hopeful “doesn’t get” systemic racism, calling it “literally the dumbest most offensive thing I’ve witnessed on TV.”Last week, in response to Scott’s announcement that he was running in the GOP primary, Behar compared Scott, who is Black, to Clarence Thomas, saying: “He’s one of those guys … Black Republican who believes in pulling yourself by your bootstraps, rather than, to me, understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country, and other minorities. He doesn’t get it.

Martha Stewart’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover on Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” Griffin threw some sly shade at the famous family and its impact on society. All of the co-hosts agreed that Stewart may have had some tune-ups from a dermatologist now and then — not to mention the homemaker’s expensive habit of weekly facials — before Griffin claimed that she loved that the 81-year-old looks like herself.“I get a little sad with my generation of women because they are all trying to adapt to the current beauty thing. So it’s like we’re going to get the big fillers, the giant lips.”She continued: “Look like yourself.

Suzanne Somers Shares Why She Turned Down Co-Hosting 'The View'

Suzanne Somers is revealing she passed on an opportunity to join Barbara Walters when  first aired, but she claims two reasons kept her away from the now-iconic daytime talk show.During a conversation with David Yontef on his podcast, the  star said she was «originally asked to be on the original  with Barbara Walters — and whoever else — and I turned it down.» Walters, the late legendary journalist who created, led the original panel that was also comprised of Joy Behar, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Debbie Matenopoulos. premiered on ABC in 1997 and while there have been a number of co-hosts since the original panel premiered, the show has more than endured. It's become one of the preeminent shows by being fervently unafraid to tackle sensitive subjects and enter the political and social discourse. «Everyone said, 'Why would you turn that down? It's a national show,'» Sommers continued on the podcast. «I said, first of all, I'd have to live in New York and I don't want to live in New York.

‘Book Club: The Next Chapter’ Review: Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton and Friends Voyage to Italy for a Cookie-Cutter Sequel That Gets Sweetly Romantic

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film Critic It’s beyond obvious that women deserve a movie that portrays and celebrates them in their sixties and seventies reveling in the joys of romantic adventure and uninhibited sex. It’s not so obvious that they deserved “Book Club,” the 2018 comedy about four hale, hearty, and prosperous senior friends who read “Fifty Shades of Grey” in their monthly literary white-wine klatsch, only to discover that E.L. James’s S&M princess fantasy jump-starts their hibernating libidos and/or their desire to commit to the men who are courting them. You could use a whole Thesaurus paragraph of withering descriptives to evoke the sort of movie “Book Club” was. It was prefab, it was cookie-cutter, it was paint-by-numbers, it was broad enough to play to the peanut gallery, it was four glorified sitcoms jammed into one overly synthetic package.
