Detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses after a 'horrific' attack that killed a 'vulnerable' woman in Bury, as two murder suspects remain in custody to be questioned.
Emergency services raced to the scene of a disturbance on Pear Avenue on Saturday night (September 16), where officers found a 55-year-old woman unconscious. She was rushed to hospital but later died on Monday (September 18) as a result of the injuries she sustained in the attack.
A murder probe was launched by Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team who have arrested a 31-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman on suspicion of murder.

Officers investigating what police have now called a 'horrific, isolated attack' are now appealing for anyone in the area at the time of the assault to come forward and say there will be 'high visibility patrols' in the area.
For the third day, forensics and police remained on Pear Avenue with the victim's house taped off. Floral tributes were also left placed on the ground at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Davis said: "This was a horrific, isolated attack that was carried out on a vulnerable 55-year-old and we have a number of lines of enquiry that we are currently following.
"We have two in custody but our investigation is still very much ongoing. We have increased, high visibility patrols in the community and they are there to speak to members of the community and answer questions they may have.
