Week 25 of Deadline’s Strike Talk podcast comes amid a tough time on the negotiations front between SAG-AFTRA and the studios. No formal talks have taken place or have even been scheduled since October 11, when bargaining was suspended amid the latest impasse.

But the proposal was rejected on Wednesday by the union’s negotiating committee, which is sticking to the demands it has spelled out over many weeks of negotiations. The talks broke off last month without an agreement, but both sides indicated at the time that they would continue to negotiate. SAG-AFTRA members remain on strike against the major film and TV companies.

It’s been nearly three weeks since SAG-AFTRA‘s talks with the video game industry broke off, but a power-up is on the horizon. The union said today that negotiations for a new Interactive Media Agreement will continue. But as for when — stay tuned.

Emanuel, CEO of the parent company to WME, attended Bloomberg’s Screentime conference this week and called for Lourd and his longtime partner Kevin Huvane to “take a leave of absence” amid a lawsuit from Ormond. That suit charges The Walt Disney Company and CAA with compliance in abuse Ormond says she suffered at the hands of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Negotiations have once again collapsed between the actors’ union (SAG-AFTRA) and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (aka AMPTP). The actors’ union is on strike as they try and negotiate fair wages in the age of streaming, artificial intelligence, and more.

SAG-AFTRA is set to sit down with the studios today to restart talks on a deal for the actors.

SAG-AFTRA and negotiators for the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers are expected to meet around midday at the union’s Miracle Mile headquarters at SAG-AFTRA Plaza. The talks follow the settlement the AMPTP reached last week with the Writers Guild of America after a 148-day strike.
