It is far and away the big deal of Cannes so far, and a deal of this size ought to send a jolt of optimism that the North American marketplace for Cannes films is still alive and well, after a slow start here.

How Authors Like Jenny Han, Michael Connelly, Cheryl Strayed and Taffy Brodesser-Akner Are Increasingly Involved in Their TV Adaptations

Jonas Brothers Talk Purity Rings, Sliding Into DMs and Their Wives

Jonas Brothers made their first joint appearance on on Sunday, and looked back at their younger years in the spotlight.During a segment called «Agree or Disagree,» Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas were posed a series of questions by host Andy Cohen, including if they think is a better movie than (agree), and if they were the best singers in a Disney Channel collaboration that also featured their exes, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato (disagree). One burning question the brothers weren't shy about answering was about their infamous purity rings, which they wore during the start of their career — publicly vowing that they would wait until marriage to have sex.«The purity rings were a bad idea, one, two, agree or disagree,» Cohen asked. Joe, Nick and Kevin all turned their paddles around to flash «agree.» «In theory they're not a bad idea,» Nick quipped. «But you should know what you're signing up for before you sign up for it.»«When you're 12 versus when you're like 16 is a very big difference,» Joe added.Cohen then asked the brothers if there was a big moment when they took the rings off, to which Nick replied, «It just sort of happened.» Today, the singers are all married.

Sheryl Crow on Her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Honor, the Rocker She’d Most Like to Give Her Plaque To, and Plans for a ‘4D’ One-Woman Show

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic It makes her happy, in case you were wondering — this Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honor that was announced Thursday for Sheryl Crow, making her part of the class of 2023 that is set for induction this November in New York. The singer-songwriter says she is pleased to be going in alongside her old pal Willie Nelson, with whom she just sang for his 90th birthday party at the Hollywood Bowl, along with fellow female powerhouses of contemporary music like Kate Bush (who she grew up on) and Missy Elliott (whose production skills she particularly admires). Never mind those who rode into the hall before her: A scan of the plaques on the walls in Cleveland may read like a discography of people Crow has already sung with over the last three decades.
