Vin Diesel is one Hollywood name in a star-studded cast for a new animated series inspired by the 2017 action survival video game Ark: Survival Evolved. Doug Scott was an English mountain climber who was part of the first team to summit Mount Everest via its challenging southwest face.Scott joined Chris Bonington’s famed Everest expedition in 1975. It was the first British team to summit Everest, as well as the first to use the southwest face to get there, and Scott himself became the first Englishman to reach Everest’s summit.

David Lander, who was best known for playing Squiggy on the beloved sitcom Laverne & Shirley, has died at the age of 73. Lander died of multiple sclerosis, which he battled for the past 37 years.

Eli Countryman PBS Kids announced the production of “Alma’s Way,” an animated series created by Sonia Manzano, who played Maria on “Sesame Street” for over 40 years.The upcoming show is slated to premiere on PBS stations as well as the PBS Kids channel and digital platforms in the fall of 2021. Its titular character, Alma Rivera, is a six-year-old Puerto Rican girl living in the Bronx with her parents and brother.

PBS Kids’ roster will see a new face on the block come 2021 with Alma’s Way, a new animated series from Fred Rogers Productions and Sesame Street alum Sonia Manzano. Set to debut on PBS and PBS Kids next fall, Alma’s Way follows a 6-year-old Puerto Rican girl in the Bronx as she offers young viewers glimpses into her diverse and close-knit community.
