Writer-producer Jake Coburn has signed a first-look deal with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, to develop and produce projects for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. The pact expands Coburn’s relationship with the studio behind The Endgame, the heist drama co-created and executive produced by Coburn which received a series order at NBC earlier this week.

Screen Engine/ASI’s weekly PostVODTM ranking, the comedy was the #1 streamed movie of that particular opening weekend and boasts the #1 opening weekend of any other streaming movie in 2021 to date or in the past 12 months. The film in its debut week also topped Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings among all streamed SVOD content.“Eddie is a legend both in front of and behind the camera,” Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said in a statement.

Sylvie’s Love star and producer Nnamdi Asomugha has entered into an exclusive first-look deal with Amazon Studios via his iAm21 Entertainment. Under the pact, Asomugha will develop and produce projects to premiere in theatres and on Amazon Prime in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The deal follows Asomugha’s recent Emmy nomination for outstanding television movie for the Amazon Original movie, Sylvie’s Love.

Asomugha has received an Emmy nomination as producer of the Amazon film “Sylvie’s Love,” which he also starred in alongside Tessa Thompson. Amazon also released Asomugha’s 2017 film “Crown Heights,” which premiered at Sundance and earned him supporting actor nominations at the Independent Spirit and NAACP Image Awards.
