Harry Brant, fashion model and the son of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and businessman Peter Brant, has died at age 24.  His family announced news of his untimely death with a statement to the New York Times revealing that the cause was an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.  "We will forever be saddened that his life was cut short by this devastating disease," the family told the outlet.

Though renowned for his music, Phil Spector also harbored an ambition to direct and produce movies, and in 1966 asked me to drop by his house so he could explain his plan. At the time, I was a reporter covering politics for The New York Times in Los Angeles and had met Spector at a political party.

Phil Spector, the controversial music producer who was convicted of murder, died on Saturday, January 16. He was 81.
