A 26-year-old man allegedly climbed the fence surrounding DaBaby‘s property and was shot in the football field outside of the house, the Troutman Police Department shared with CNN.
“I shot him in his leg,” an unidentified person told police after the incident occurred and called 911.
When the dispatcher asked why, the caller said, “He’s trespassing on my property. I don’t know what he’s here for. What he’s here to take. What he’s here to do. He’s neutralized until you guys get here.”
Around 8pm, police arrived on the scene and found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was then transported to a local medical center.
Sources later told TMZ that DaBaby was the one that shot the intruder and called 911, but the police have not confirmed that report.
“I can confirm the shooting did not occur inside the residence and that Mr. Kirk was on the property,” police chief Josh Watson shared with CNN. He added that the investigation is in “an ongoing status” and couldn’t provide any other information.
As of right now, no charges have been filed.
